Late Update

Stephanie reminded me that I had not yet updated Meredith's condition since our last visit. The doctor decided that her clot was as hard as a rock and was not going anywhere. He took her off of the Plavix like drug.

Love and prayers coming to you all from Baltimore, MD!

Well, I wrote a note to you BEFORE signing up for a Google Account (DUHHH), so now I think my original message is gone. If it isn't, you'll get the same message twice. (DUHHH, DUHHH!) Sorry.

Anyway, my name is MaryEllen and I'm a nurse in the Neonatal ICU at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. I teach a class in congenital heart defects to new nurses (who go through a 3-month orientation when they begin work in our unit). I cannot tell you how helpful Meredith's ongoing story is to us. What better way for nurses to understand and appreciate what "our" babies and their families go through, and to appreciate how strong you all are! The larger perspective given to us by you and Meredith help us to be better, more caring, and more empathetic nurses to all our little patients and their families, so thank you!

    My best wishes,
    MaryEllen

P.S. You are a great writer! A book someday??
